Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality, or AR, as it is usually abbreviated has been around for a few years – Google Glass was the first near-mainstream hardware/software combo, but that never really took off did it?
Today, the processing power and pixel-packed smartphone is scorching a new AR path. We’re not so much wearing glasses – although Snapchat are still trying to make it happen – as filtering our faces, places, pets, and personalities.
Instagram filters are all the rage, incredibly vogue, whatever, the end result is a highly usable feature that can get your brand into the minds of millions of customers for a comparatively small fee. That’s the power of the network.
Beyond entertainment, augmented reality has many applications in education and design. There are powerful ways of learning waiting to be unlocked using computer vision and a trusty iPhone.
At Offscreen we’re in the nascent stages of augmented reality development. We have the 3D designers, we have a few connections with programmers, all we’re waiting for is our first customer. We’d like to make it known that the first AR customer we have will receive a discount of 50%. This prize has not been claimed as of February 2022, we’ll update on our social media when it has been though.
